adana

In the late 1990's, with the coming of the home computer, we saw a severe downturn in sales of Adana Printing Machines and products. In 1999 our official agent in Japan, Western MInd Corporation, sold the last 25 new 8 x 5 machines. They were bought by a museum that was setting up a workshop with the to help children understand print and use the equipment. There is a belief that modern children have lost the ability to use their hands and brains constructively and they are hoping the Adana machines will help with this problem!

The cost of casting and assembling another batch of Adana 8 x 5 machines would have been extremely high and required price tag larger than that of an extremely fast and powerful PC. This, we felt, was not viable and reluctantly we decided to cease production of the highly successful Model 8 x 5 platen.

Since moving from London to St. Albans we have seen an increase in enquiries for people looking for new Adana 8 x 5 machines. As we have huge stocks of new parts on our shelves we embarked on a project to use them by rebuilding old machines. It takes two weeks and the finished article looks fantastic..... and the price is reasonable because we do not have to make new castings.

The picture above shows the finished article and we can also rebuild 5 x 3 machines to the same high standard.

We still sell printers consumables, type, photopolymer platemaking equipment, ink, foil blocking machines ...... the list is very long.
